This love began as gratitude....the natural response to being dragged from the fire....Faint, consumed with smoke, I had inhaled ash so long my lungs were paper bags, seared, about to crumble....Your mouth was wet....I drank you like a future....Your hands raised a sweat along my spine, tracing my ribs....Your breath misted me like a meadow before dawn....Dew clung to my belly and the grasses parched between my thighs grew succulent, blossomed dense as clover....I learned the folds of your desire, the underground spring which gushed like laughter....I found your hidden life--bobcat, cougar--I learned to tempt him out, to coax him, luxurious, slow, to circle in that damp field until he bounded, muscles rippling with stunning urgency....You were as steady as monsoons....You would not relent....I trusted you....You lapped me like waves, cresting me, foaming and roaring, the taffeta swish of bubbles dissolving....I opened my heart like an astonished mouth....Night after night, we are immersed in this salt sea....We emerge dripping and briny, like ancient life re-created....We stream with possibility.

that she's looking forward to

a cordless drill, and a black
lace bra...

He draws memory out of me with hands of fire....His touch is miracle and shock....My masseur strokes me into swallow-light torrents of love....He kneads me. He firms the firey earth of me....He sears the air of me. My flesh furnaces. (But his kiss on my throat pulses a cool radish scent)....We loll and sweat on his plush throne, on far-flung cushions I tremble under the tact of his touch....His tongue floods me like honey and citrus....I slide into my own sheet-of-fire ghost.....Like a god humming and making things he puts his lips against mine.....

Into my life you brought forth a newness. The brightness of your ever changing glow, colored with boldness, authority and determination. A softness of light came in the glory of dreams, passion and intimacy. The touch of gentleness and understanding where among your soft shades- purelove was discovered as I reached your end. Then an awareness of it having been there all thetime. Now you settle in a warm satisfied blanket of gold, to bring forth a contentment within.
